Where do I start? We all have ideas at one point in our life journey. How many of us actually takes the risks to bring it into reality? Not many. But why? Is it fear? Is it self-doubt? Do not have time? Do not let anything get in the way!
My mother has always been my role model. She always worked so hard to succeed in all her business ventures. I can honestly say I look up to her all the time. Why? Well, she never gave up. The struggles of launching her business, the failures of not succeeding in her business ventures, and the energy to keep moving forward even if it meant we would struggle financially. I get goosebumps of just talking out loud about it. Her secret… perseverance. With this I start my journey with you….
I find this to be one of the hardest parts of wanting to start a business. Why? Well, you need to do an internal self-evaluation, and being honest with myself has always been a challenge for me. With this said, I needed to be willing to recognized areas that needed improvement and development for myself.
Let’s highlight a few of the things I covered under self-evaluation:
Strengths
Weaknesses
Skills and abilities
Let’s be real, my list of weaknesses was a lot longer than my strengths. But why is that? The honest answer, SELF DOUBT, FEAR OF FAILURE, and I CHOSE WEAKNESS OVER STRENGTHS.
I often find myself finding all my weaknesses before I take the time to evaluate my strengths. I chose to bring in all this catabolic energy that I allowed to take over my thoughts in self-evaluating my strengths.
I have made it a routine to work on my strengths rather than focus solely on weaknesses. This decision has made me more happier, less stressed and more confident.
Growing your mindset will give you the ability to have more freedom in reaching your full potential and staying aligned with your values. Do not let any limiting beliefs hold you back!
“I have grown my entrepreneurial mindset with baby steps, as I have chosen to prioritize my long-term planning and have allowed myself to push through my many obstacles that have come my way while getting my business started”.
A freedom of mindset allows you to accomplish everything that is possible. Bring the courage and motivation to every attempt and every failure.
Brainstorming is a critical part of starting a business. Well for me it is, because it helped me narrow down my millions of ideas that I had. Let’s just say that my list of ideas is long, it’s like a bucket list of business ideas. Maybe my business idea list is longer than my bucket list. It brings a smile to my face knowing I am not the only one with a zillion ideas.
I find that brainstorming allows me to think without having any limitation to the impossible. What I mean is that you can brainstorm with an open mind without having any limitations or restraints to what you want. Be creative!
Let the creativity flow inspire you and immerse yourself with information about the industry you are searching for.
Think about the business you currently admire and write down what you admire about them.
Think about what issues you are facing in your own life right now. What do you wish was easier to do at work, home, or your downtime.
Gather information from friends and family, to help get a better insight of your idea.
Finally, narrow down your options.
That’s a great question! I was stuck here for quite some time. The reason was… well there were many reasons: self-doubt, not enough funding, not sure where to start. AH! IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID!
Taking the first steps can always be the most challenging, it’s like being lost in the dark and not knowing which way to go. My tips to you:
State your intention.
Have a positive mindset.
Keep it simple.
Shift that doubt to the side and do not let the negativity hold you back.
“I am determined to launch my business, no matter the obstacles that I may face!”
